Robert Brush

Fredonia - Robert was born May 4th, 1929 to William Coke Brush and Vida Beck Brush. He passed from this life on Feb 11, 2009 at his home in Fredonia, Arizona. He married Dianne Chappell on December 23rd, 1958. From this union 4 children were born, Robert William Brush, Lorene Faye Gilbert, Dan C. Brush, and James Sherman Brush. Robert worked most of his life in the drilling business; he worked on oil rigs from Canada to Texas. In 1981 he moved his family from Erda, Utah to Fredonia, Az. He and Dianne purchased the Shiprock Motel, and was the drilling Superintendent for Energy Fuels Nuclear, he retired in 1991.

He is survived by his wife Dianne, 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Robert William, Lorene Faye (Lorin), Dan C. (Angela), James Sherman (Desiree'), Grandchildren; Riley, Heather, Danyele, Cody, Clayton, Baylee, Wade, Rachelle, Alyssa, Rhett, Kamryn. Brother; Caydon Brush in Amarillo, Texas, and sisters; Esta Faye Brush, Iren Crow of Itasca, Texas, and Betty Ruth Wilkins of Lubbock, Texas.

Robert is preceded in death by his Parents, step-mother; Pearl Duckett Brush, and brothers; James C. Brush, William C. Brush, Richard Brush, Kenneth Brush, and JR Brush.

Funeral services will be held February 14th, 2009 at the Fredonia LDS Chapel at 12 Noon, the viewing will be from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in the Fredonia Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.

Don Welch

Lyman, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Donald Frank Welch, age 77, of Lyman, died August 3, 2009 in Richfield, Utah.
He was born November 1, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Frank Carter and Alice Lauretta Smith Welch. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City.
Don serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Don married Phyllis Layona, August 4, 1958 in California. She died May 2, 1973. He married Nellie Chappell, October 4, 1973 in Elko, Nevada.
Don was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and everyone enjoyed his homemade mustard sauce. Don especially enjoyed golding with his friend, Rudi Pace.
He is survived by his loving wife of Lyman; children: Vicki and Steve Myers of Anchorage, Alaska; Craig and Debra Anderson of Francis, Utah; Brian and Cathy Welch of Washington City, Utah; Scott and Jana Anderson of Salt Lake City; Rodney and Lynne Anderson of Francis, Utah; Mike and Heather Welch of Lyman, Utah; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Johnson of Murray, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Jack Farell and Leonard Welch; a sister, Viola Kartchner and a brother-in-law: Red Johnson.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the home of Glen and Lela Chappell, 161 East 600 South in Lyman, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in memory of Don Welch.
At his request, Don’s remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date.

Sherman Lessley, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home on June 10, 2009. Sherm was born to Glen and Irene Chappell on Nov. 18, 1929, in Murray, Utah. He was raised by Frank and Irene Lessley.

He married the love of his life, Ruth, on Aug. 26, 1953. Along with his three sons and her son and daughter, they moved to Bozeman that same year. In 1954, two more boys (twins) were born to make our wonderful family total nine.

Sherm worked for Montana State University as an electrician, and was the only one who would climb the infamous smokestack to change the light bulbs. He also worked for Bozeman Electric, Yellowstone Electric, Volk Electric, and Radio Shack.

Our father was a "gruff old cowboy," but he also had a gentile way about him when we needed it most. As his great-grandson, Gage, said, "Great-Grandpa has a lot of words." We will always cherish the wonderful memories and lessons he taught us.

Sherm is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; daughter, Barbara (Jim) Jones; sons. Mickey (Wendy), Jay Blair, Dennis (Polly), Jim (Cindy), Tom (Dianne), and Terry. Also surviving are six brothers, Alton (Barb) Chappell, Marion (Buttons) Chappell, George (Linda) Chappell, David (Kaye) Valdez, Frank Lessley and Emmett Lessley; and four sisters, Nellie (Don) Welch, Audrey (Russ) Hilton, Dianne Chappell Brush, and Barbara Lessley (Dan) Blackwell; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Dad, you were in so much pain and discomfort in your last weeks. But instead of feeling sorry for yourself, you said there are other people worse off than you. We know you aren't hurting anymore and you are with our Heavenly Father. You will be missed.

An informal gathering of family and friends will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the home of Sherm and Ruth, 1240 Cobb Hill Road, Bozeman.
